I've read this book twice, the second being to refresh my memory.
Bobby Pendragon is just a normal fourteen year old boy. But soon his life would change drastically and for better or worse, he hasn't decided yet. His Uncle Press drags into a terrifying and exhilarating journey through places that he never knew existed. The place that he visits in this book is called Denduron and there he meets a girl called Loor who will help him immensely in his travels. You see, Bobby is a Traveler. His duty is to travel to places called territories and stop an evil Traveler called Saint Dane, who wants nothing more than to rule Halla. Halla is everything. Every time and every territory. Will Bobby prevail? Only by reading will you find out!
D.J. MacHale is one creative author. Coming up with a world like Bobby Pendragons' is not an easy task, but one that MacHale does perfectly.
The writing is different and in an interesting format, journals. For the most part anyways. There are parts when written normally. The switch from journal format to normal format is refreshing and keeps you on your toes. The characters are funny and very believable.
This book is absolutely perfect for people of all ages. Teenagers and adults alike will love the story that D.J. MacHale has written for us.
I guarantee it.
